We received a 1 Night complimentary vouchers from Amex
and decided to book our stay on the Mid Autumn Festival. We were greeted with
many beautiful lanterns hanged around the pool as well as the haze that made the entire
place foggy. Did Chang E visit sentosa?
Getting to The Outpost Hotel Sentosa
Hotel guests who plan to drive can take the route
towards Imiah Station. After arriving, look for the Village Hotel/The outpost
hotel sign and you will be directed to their shared carpark. In-house guest
will receive complimentary carpark during their stay.
For guest who does not drive, one can take the
complimentary shuttle bus that operates from Hotel – RWS – Vivocity. Pick up
point at Vivocity is at the gate nearer to Paradise Teochew restaurant. Do arrive 5 - 10 minutes before the scheduled time.
Hotel guest are also given 2 complimentary Sentosa tickets
in case you decide to walk back from Vivocity to Sentosa or to explore Sentosa by
foot. If you are planning to take the express train from Vivocity (which I highly
recommend you not to because there
is a free shuttle service), you can alight at the Imbiah Station.
Lobby Check-In
Located at level 3, the lobby is nicely designed with a Feature wall with filled with deco and lifestyle items
with Black and Gold as the base colour. Items can be purchased from naiise, an online website. Checking in is fuss-free. We were given our pineapple drink to quench our thirst. Even the welcome
drink is served in gold pineapple! They really know how to design and style
their items. Because everything is so #instagramworthy
During Check-in, we get to choose 5 complimentary items as our mini-bar items. Luscombe juice ($4.80 on Redmart) Starbucks Signature Chocolate ($3.50 on Fairprice), Filbert Almond Nut ( No price online), Tyrrells Chips ($2.50 at the counter). The last thing you want to have
in your basket is Hershey chocolate as it cost $1 from ABC mart.
Thankfully we arrive early and managed to avoid the crowd. The lobby could hardly fit everyone with its 2 x 3-seater Sofa during its check-in timing. Thus, it is always better to check in early.
The Room
The Outpost Hotel has 193 standard rooms and Every
room is of the same size of 24sqm. Each room is designed with Black, gold and marble style,
making the room very modern and stylish. Some may find it too small for a 4
star hotel but I feel that the room is cleverly design and space where appropriate.
There is a door partition for you to close if you find the expose basin unsightly.
The difference in the type of room in Outpost Hotel is
the room view. We were pretty lucky to get a room facing the sea. We were told
that we can even a glimpse of fireworks
at night at 7:50pm or 8:50pm daily. And when they say a glimpse, what they actually
meant was 10 second.
Despite the small size, the room can fit a King Size bed and a small sofa at the side. The King size bed with a firm mattress was comfortable. Plus,
the 55 inch on the wall adds up the comfort level and making us reluctant to
leave the room.
Bathroom
I was impressed with the Bathroom facilities. The shower was installed with Hansgrohe shower mixer table and can be used by pressing
the button. Naturally, we activated both hand shower and Rainshower at the
same time and it felt great. Toilet was installed with Toto washlet and bidet
function too! To end it off, the bathroom is completed with toiletries kit from
Australian brand Appelles Apothecary & Lab. Smell so good!
Amenities
in Room
Together with the free DIY mini bar option, one can
find complimentary Nespresso capsules and bespoke Pryce Tea in the room. Instead of complimentary bottled water, a Hyflux
filtered water tap was installed. Personally, I feel that it is a lot nicer and
environmental friendly to use the water tap instead of bottled water. Plus, you
can refill the water into your own bottles whenever you want.
Dining
There are 2 main dining options available at The Outpost
Hotel. One at the rooftop area level 7 V:U for breakfast set at $35+ or visit Native Kitchen restaurant at Village hotel and
enjoy buffet breakfast S$30 ++ per pax. Alternatively, one can visit Royal Taj
for Indian cuisine at Mess Hall. Since our room does not include buffet
breakfast, we took the shuttle to RWS for both dinner and brunch. If you are

Facilities
They got one of the prettiest hotel swimming pool in Singapore.
Despite being market as an adult-only hotel, the outpost hotel shares facilities
with the Village hotel. Thus, even if you have kids with you, I don’t see a reason
why you can’t bring your kids there since it’s all shared facilities. Just
avoid the adult-only pool which faces the sea and you can still bring your kids
to other kids friendly area. If you want to avoid the kids, you may want to check out its rooftop pool.
The gym is open 24 hours and well equipped with fitness a machine such as a
dual pulley machine and 8 cardiovascular machines ranging from bikes to
ellipticals to treadmills. Sadly, it was fully packed when we visited in the evening. We
went back the next day and found it empty at 12pm.
Other Hotels Nearby
Sentosa is very popular with
both tourist and locals. There are many hotels in Sentosa and with new hotels opening
up every few years, the competition is pretty intense. Here’s a comparison of

After comparing similar hotels
with the same tier in Sentosa, we realized that The Outpost hotel has a higher
price point. Despite the higher price, I can’t deny that the items used in the
Outpost hotel is of quality. If you are in for a treat or the price is right
for the outpost hotel, I would think that they are great options for a staycation.
Otherwise, the Village hotel
may seem like a better deal since they share the same facilities with the outpost
hotel and have a similar layout. The only difference is the room size, toiletries
as well as the in-room shower facilities.
Plus, you can have the options to opt for family room 1 king size bed +
2 Single Bed.
