Bintan, a popular option for a weekend getaway among Singaporean, is just an hour ferry ride from Singapore. Many visit Bintan to unwind and escape from city life. On top of that,  many resorts in Bintan offers water activities for the inhouse guest and one will be spoilt for choices. One can even opt for something different – Glamping.

Glamping, also known as glamorous camping is a great option for those who want to experience staying in a tent and in Style. This was my first trip to Bintan and it was definitely a fun trip filled with lots of activities and new experience! Together with my friends, we set off to Bintan!

Do note that you need to be there at least 30 minutes before departure. If you are planning to visit Bintan for 2 Day, I highly recommend you to arrive there early so that you have more time to do the activities. We took the first ferry at 8.10am ferry and arrived at Bintan around 9 am Bintan Time. More information on Bintan Ferry Ticket here.

Upon arrival at BBT ferry terminal, we met the resort staff after immigration and he escorted us to our shuttle. Just 5-minute drive away from the ferry terminal, we arrived at Anmon. We were greeted by the friendly staff and they help us to proceed with check-in. Thankfully we visited on a weekday and the rooms are ready. If the rooms are not ready, you can leave your luggage with them.

Designed with desert-theme glamping resort, there are 100 glamping tents in Anmon. Each tent has an in-built toilet and fully furnished.  The 45 sqm tent is divided into 3 area – porch, the main room and toilet and can accommodates up to 4 persons. Even though it can accommodate up to 4 pax, I feel that the room is best to fit up to 2 Adults + 2 Kids or 3 Adult.

In every tent, there are 2 Single bed and can be combined to form a double bed. Prior to the trip, I was a little sceptical the comfort level of the tent but thankfully the mattress was firm and comfortable. In addition, the toilet is pretty big considering it to be a glamping style. Clean and well designed.  Plus, they even have 2 Basin in 1 toilet!

Free Wifi is available in all areas. Thus, there is no need to purchase a sim-card when you visit Anmon. All request can be made through digital concierge service. From dinner options to in-room service, the bot or staff will get back to you soonest. We tried and it works! Once, we were locked out of the room and managed to contact the staff to open it for us.

There are many activities to do in the resort and something for everyone especially water-sports. We purchased the day activity package for 544,500 IDR and it includes selected Water and Land Activities. Ala Cart options are available too.

The water package includes - Slip & slide, Cable Tube, Float Rental, Lagoon Kayak and paddle boat in the largest man-made pool in South East Asia. Other ala cart water sports include wakeboarding and bumper boat. My personal favourite is the cable tube!

If you are not a water-sport person, you can try the land activity such as ATV, UTV, Segway ride, beach volleyball and beach soccer. Sadly, Rodeo Bull was down and we didn’t manage to try it.

On top of the existing activities, other activities available for the children include Junior ATV, Electric Train, Prince Moto, Ironman Robot and Pirates adventures. Do note that there is some restriction for the water and land activities for children.

Personally, I think the day package is pretty value for money and perfect for people who wants to try a little of everything! However, if there is only 1 item in the listed package that you would like to try it out, then go for the ala cart package!

Other chill cove package available that includes the Treasure Bay entrance

On top of activities, treat yourself to Indonesian massage at Nibana or you can opt for in-room Indonesian style massage (280,000 IDR + Tax). We opt for the in-room Indonesian style massage and masseurs brought their equipment along with them.

The package we purchased includes a 60-minute mangrove tour (150,000 IDR). If you purchase the day activity package, it includes a 20 minutes mangrove tour. Best time to visit the mangrove pontoon tour is during the late afternoon session before the sunset! Although there are not many animals seen on the tour, one can enjoy the relaxing boat ride!

There is no breakfast buffet at Anmon Resort. Instead, guest can choose 1 set from their menu.  There are western and Indonesian option available. Breakfast choice is limited and considering the price paid per room, the breakfast is probably the most pathetic one I've ever seen. Two tiny hotdogs for an American breakfast set. Perhaps going for the Indonesian style breakfast seems to be a better option. The table beside us ordered that and it looks yum!

The dining options in Anmon and Treasure Bay are limited. For lunch, we visited the Marine cafe for simple Indonesian food. For dinner, we visited the seafood restaurant at Treasure Bay. You can choose from ala cart menu to seafood set (250,000 IDR + Tax per person.). To be honest, the food in the resort has a huge room for improvement. Nonetheless, I’m thankful that at least I get our stomach filled.

You can even opt for a dinner BBQ outside your tent. Set range from 450,000 IDR. We decide to skip the bbq experience because it is ridiculously expensive for only a few items. Alternatively, one can opt for seafood dinner at Kelong for seafood which we heard a mixed review about it.

Overall, I find the food in the resort to be mediocre. To be honest, instant noodle taste better than some of the food we ordered. Highly recommend you to bring your own food such as instant noodle and snacks! Otherwise, you can purchase them at the mini-mart in Treasure Bay Activity Center!
Thankful for trips like this!

In Conclusion, If you have been to other resort-style islands, you will know that Bintan is not exactly cheap. We spent an average $300 per person for a 2 day 1 night in Bintan. However, they are a great option for impromptu trips or when the price of air ticket fluctuates and you do not want to spend on a overprice ticket. Also, Bintan is a great option for a family with kids or even for teambuilding!
