Alternatively, one can take MRT train from Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) to Sukhumvit MRT
Alternatively, the journey takes around 40 - 90 minutes by taxi, with fares averaging ฿400–฿600, depending on traffic.
However if you are carrying multiple luggage, it is best to engage a taxi/private to get there. Be prepared to spend some time on the road. We took about 1.5 hours to reach the hotel on a weekday afternoon.
First Impressions & Check-in Experience
From the moment we arrived, Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit impressed us with its sophisticated and modern ambiance. The lobby featured elegant chandeliers, plush seating, and a warm color palette, creating a refined yet welcoming atmosphere.
Unfortunately, Check-in was not as smooth and staff was not as attentive as other hotel. The staff only gave us the room key and told us breakfast was at second level. We were expecting more from a 5 star hotel.
Magnifique Room
Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit offers a range of rooms and suites, each designed with French sophistication and Thai-inspired elegance. Refurbished with a chic French-themed aesthetic, the 345 rooms and suites redefine elegance. We opted for the luxury room with city view– 37 sqm and was fortunate to be upgraded to Magnifique Room - 42 sqm which comes with a addition writing desk! The
The room was spacious, well-lit, and elegantly designed, featuring floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic city views. The king-size Sofitel MyBed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep. Plus, one can get their pillow from pillow menu! Power and USB points by the bedside enhance guest convenience. Unlike some hotel, we love the individual air condition control. Small touches like a pillow menu, complimentary Nespresso machine, and fresh fruit platter enhanced the overall experience.
The marble-clad bathroom features a separate shower and bathtub, complete with Balmain amenities for a rejuvenating experience. The room is equipped with a SMART LED TV and Bose Wave Music System, great for people who love to chill in the room! Unfortunately, we didn't use them during our stay!
Restaurants & Bar
Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit offers four exquisite in-house restaurants, from delightful French cuisine to Japanese cuisine, there is a variety of dining options for guest to choose from. The hotel’s rooftop bar and restaurant, Belga Rooftop Bar & Brasserie, served authentic Belgian cuisine and craft beers, along with breathtaking skyline views. It was the perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a relaxed evening drink. You can redeem your welcome drink at hotel rooftop bar or Japanese restuarant Maison Mizuki at level 1.
Breakfast Buffet
The breakfast buffet at Voilà! Restaurant was good, featuring a wide selection of international and Thai dishes, fresh pastries, tropical fruits, and live cooking stations.
Also, For those looking for more dining options, the hotel is within walking distance of some of Bangkok’s best restaurants and street food spots.
Pool & Gym
Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit offers top-tier amenities, making it a great choice for both business and leisure travelers.
Business travelers will appreciate the well-equipped business center and elegant meeting rooms, making it a convenient choice for corporate stays. Families traveling with children should note that while the hotel is family-friendly, there are limited kid-focused facilities compared to some other luxury hotels in Bangkok.
The pool, while compact, offers a refreshing escape from the heat. Alternatively, rest and unwind in sun loungers in the evening after spending a long day shopping. The The SoFIT fitness center was well-equipped with modern cardio machines, weights, and yoga mats, providing a comfortable workout space. The trainer was very friendly and showed me around! For those seeking relaxation, the Le Spa which offerd a range of luxurious treatments, including traditional Thai massages, aromatherapy, and facials.
In Conclusion, Our Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit experience was exceptional. Love the hotel's prime location and how it seamlessly connects to city transport. Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit falls into the mid-to-high price range, with room rates typically between $180 and $400 per night, depending on the season and room type.
While it is not the cheapest hotel in Bangkok, the combination of luxury, prime location, makes it a worthwhile investment for travelers looking for a high-end experience. Service and more personal touch could be improved for better experience. For the best value, we recommend booking early, looking for Accor member discounts, or choosing packages that include breakfast and lounge access.
Would highly recommend Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit for those seeking a stylish and centrally located luxury hotel in Bangkok. Looking forward to returning!
