Mercure Danang French Village Bana Hills

Staying at the Mercure Danang French Village Bana Hills is a unique experience because the hotel is located in medieval French castle on top of a mountain. It is the only hotel located within the famous Ba Na Hills complex. While many people just visit for the day, staying overnight gives us more time to explore the hill with lesser crowd at night.

Getting there 

We book a private car from Pullman Danang Beach Resort to the cable car station. The service starts at the bottom of the mountain— we check in at a private station ( Thac Toc Tien Station) and take a special cable car up. 

Once we reach the station, there will be hotelporter to carry your luggage and help you with it to the cable car as well as to the hotel. Highly recommend visitor to travel light. We left our main luggage in Pullman Danang Beach Resort while we left for Bana Hills.   

The cable car operates from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm daily. Do ensure you arrive at the Reception before 4:30 pm to catch the last cable car.

The Room 

The most amazing thing about staying overnight is that you get to experience the old European village without the crowd at night. We book the standard room and it was simple and clean room.  Although it look a little dated and no where near the hotel photos, it was clean. The beds are soft and warm, which feels great after a cold walk outside.

Early Access to the Golden Bridge

At night, it gets cold! The temperature is cool, so you need to bring a jacket. The price is higher than hotels in the city, but the you get Early Access to the Golden Bridge. As guests of the hotel, we can take the first cable car at 6:00 AM or 6:45 AM to see the famous "Hand Bridge" before the big crowds arrive. This alone makes the price worth it. Unfortunately, it was raining while we were there and didn’t manage to visit in the morning. 

No doubt the air up on the mountain smells very fresh and clean, much cooler than the hot city of Danang below. For food, there are many restaurants to opt from too! For dinner, we opt for a simple dinner at the hotel restaurant for a quick fix as the little one is tired. 

The next morning, we had hotel breakfast buffet. The spread is pretty good, with many choices like Vietnamese Pho, fresh bread, and Western dishes. 

Fantasy Park

Thankfully the fantasy park, a large indoor amusement park is open till 8pm. Most games are included in your ticket. The indoor amusement park kept the little one entertained in this cold weather. 

 

Overall, if you want to see the Golden Bridge without fighting through crowds, or if you want to feel like you are in Europe without leaving Vietnam, this hotel is the perfect choice to book a night to stay there. Otherwise, making a day trip to Bana Hills is sufficient to explore the attractions
